Pueblo Powerhouse – Part 2 with the Kast Family
We had an absolutely incredible time wrapping up Part 2 with the amazing Kast family from Pueblo, Colorado! These folks are doing a phenomenal job leading the bus ministry at their church, and we were so inspired by their heart, their consistency, and their creative approach to reaching kids. You’re going to love hearing their story.
This week, we also brought back a few of your favorite segments:
Dad Joke of the Week – Because you deserve to cringe and laugh at the same time (1:15)
Something’s Wrong Here – Our blooper segment featuring those “what just happened?” moments from Sunday (1:30)
And Then This Happened – A testimony from this past Sunday that reminds us why we do what we do (4:28)
After that, we dive into the full interview with the Kast family (6:53), and trust us—you don’t want to miss a minute of it. Their wisdom, experience, and passion for ministry will leave you both challenged and encouraged.
We held off on a few other regular segments this week because… well, the conversation was just that good and the episode ran longer than expected. But don’t worry—they’ll be back next week!
Outro starts at 1:19:59, where we wrap things up and share a few thoughts for the road.
As always, thank you for joining us. We’re not experts—we’re just passionate about children’s ministry and committed to getting better, together. If you’ve got questions, topic ideas, or just want to say hey, email us at info@apostolicsundayschool.com or hit us up on WhatsApp. And if you’re enjoying the podcast, let someone know!
God bless, and have a fantastic week in children’s ministry!

Foot Trouble, Popcorn Sundays, and Bus Ministry Heroes (Feat. Jess & John Kast)
In this fun episode of the Apostolic Children’s Ministry Podcast, we’re joined by a very special co-host — my daughter! We kick things off with some laughs (and a dad joke), walk through a Sunday School blooper that left me limping, and celebrate an altar moment that made it all worth it.
Then we sit down with Jess and John Kast — an amazing husband-and-wife team from Pueblo, Colorado who are absolutely crushing it in bus ministry and Sunday School. From Popcorn Sundays to wild bus moments, you'll hear stories, strategies, and spiritual encouragement from two people who live and breathe children’s ministry.
We also give a shoutout to Kidmin Backstage with Gabe Baker, another great show from the Apostolic Podcast Network — and trust me, you’ll want to check that one out too.
Whether you're deep in the trenches of children’s ministry or just getting started, this episode is packed with laughs, lessons, and real talk. Thanks for joining us!

This episode is packed—and not just with jokes, bloopers, and object lessons (though we’ve got those too). Episode 102 dives into the real moments of children’s ministry: the chaos, the breakthroughs, the doubts, and the growth that happens when we just keep showing up.
We’re rolling out a few new segments this time, including:🎭 "Something’s Wrong Here" – Our version of a blooper reel, sharing real stories of Sunday School moments gone sideways. (2:49)🙌 "And Then This Happened…" – Because even in the middle of the mess, God still shows up. (5:32)📝 "A Thought from the Notebook" – A quick insight that might just help you lead a little better. (8:59)🎣 "Somethin’ I Learned Fishin’" – A story about worry, boats, and the power of stepping out in faith. (11:00)💧 "Objectively Cool" – An object lesson on the Oneness of God using nothing but ice, water, and steam. (14:25)🔥 "From the Archives" – A wild, fire-based lesson about the Holy Ghost (16:50)🛠 "New Tools for the Toolbox" – A look at Mureka, an AI song tool for Apostolic creatives. (18:52)📚 "Final Thought" – Maybe kids haven’t changed. Maybe we just need to. (22:48)
Oh, and yes—we’ve got the dad joke. (1:49)
Whether you’ve been in this for 20 years or 20 minutes, this episode is for you. It’s honest. It’s hopeful. And it’s a reminder that messy ministry is still God’s ministry.
Hit play, laugh with us, cringe with us, and most of all—let’s grow together.

We can hardly believe it—this is our 100th episode of the podcast AND the 10-year anniversary of our website, Apostolic Sunday School / Children's Ministry! What started as a small spark has grown into a resource hub with hundreds of videos—all created to equip, encourage, and empower those involved in Apostolic children's ministry... and to reach the hearts of children everywhere.
In this special milestone episode, we’ve put together something extra fun:
Five mini-episodes with our ILC team
Ten quick guest appearances from some amazing voices in children's ministry
And a collection of written testimonies from across the Apostolic movement
We're overwhelmed with what all God has done—but even more excited for what He’s doing and GOING TO DO! From Sunday School rooms to bus routes, from puppet shows to prayer meetings—God is moving among our children, and He’s just getting started.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you've been with us since episode one or you're just joining us now—welcome! Let’s keep reaching, teaching, and believing for even greater things.
God has been so good.

In this episode, we're kicking off something new! We're going over each lesson of the ACTS in Action Sunday School curriculum—Quarter 2: Superheroes of the Faith. Since we're using it in our local church, we'll be recapping each lesson, sharing what worked, what didn’t, and how we adapted it to fit our class. If you're planning to teach this curriculum, this deep dive might give you some helpful insights (and maybe save you a few headaches along the way).
